About Me

Hey! My name is Victoria and I am a Skincare Junkie. When I was a teenager I suffered with severely oily, acne-prone skin. Yet, once birth control was prescribed by my GP, the acne began to subside. I used to use the Neutrogena cleanser for oily skin and a moisturiser I don't even remember (probably Neutrogena too). After around two years of buying skincare formulated for oily skin, I discovered that my birth control had also changed my skin type. My skin was no longer extremely oily, but it was now extremely dry. I finished the products I was currently using and switched to Clinique's range for very dry to dry skin. The Extra Mild Cleanser, Take the Day Off Balm, Moisture Surge Moisturiser, Twice a Day Exfoliating Toner. And it worked, for a while. I am now twenty-two, and for the past few years my skin has finally settled on a skin type. Combination leaning dry. A very common yet infuriating skin type. I have researched all the different ingredients and products that work be...

REVIEW: The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum

For the past couple months, I have been using and trying out the Niacinamide serum from The Inkey List and I am currently 2/3 of my way through my second bottle. Before this serum, I used the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum by The Ordinary, which was my first time using a serum let alone niacinamide as a treatment. Due to my skin settling on a combination skin type over the past few years, I have been aware of the appearance of my pores on my nose and inner cheek area seeming rather large and in charge, and after some extensive research during the beginning of my skincare journey I found the wonder ingredient that is niacinamide. Not only is niacinamide recommended by many dermatologists and estheticians alike, it is also an ingredient that is truly loved by my two favourite skincare YouTubers Skincare by Hyram and James Welsh. Both influencers have been known to rave about niacinamide as an ingredient in toners, moisturisers, serums, and eye creams to name a few. When using the s...

REVIEW: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Image
For the past month or so, I have been trying a cleanser that is new to me; the Gentle Skin Cleanser by Cetaphil. Before I purchased this cleanser, I did some extensive research into cleansers that are benefiting to the skin through its pore-cleansing abilities whilst making sure that it is not overly stripping to the skin. I have not only tested this cleanser on my face but also on my body as well. First, lets discuss the positives. It is a nice basic cleanser that did an excellent job at clearing up any breakouts that I had on both my face and body. I also love the fact that it is fragrance-free as, even though my skin isn't sensitive to fragrance, I want to avoid it where possible so that I know that I am not irritating my skin for no reason; also I know that there are people whose skin is sensitive to fragrance and therefore I wanted to present a review on something that I believe that is suitable and accessible for anyone. I am someone who deals with body acne, not helped by m...
